Asthma Home Treatment

Asthma, home, treatment, attack, allergy

There are many known home remedies which have eased the miseries of asthma patients time and again and many things which have proved to be helpful. Prevention is better than cure or so they say the same goes for asthma patients as well. It's always better to find a way that would help prevent the attack altogether than having the attack first and then trying to tackle it somehow by taking various medicines.

  • One of the things that can actually help prevent an asthma attack is your regular coffee, believe it or not. This happens because of the amount of caffeine present in a cup of coffee. Now it is a well known fact about caffeine that it has bronchodilating effects and long time back somewhere in the 19th century, coffee was regularly used to help people with asthma problems. But that doesn't mean that you can overdo your intake of coffee or can have Java whenever you want to; it just means that keep on taking in the regular coffee that you do.
  • Onions have some anti-inflammatory attributes which can visibly lessen the constriction of the airways of your lungs. But they should not be consumed in a raw form preferably, for best results they should be cooked and then eaten.
  • According to some experts, you can also use chilli peppers to try and prevent asthma attacks as well. Peppers help to stimulate fluids in your lungs, mouth and throat which help thinning the mucus that causes congestion and thus an asthma attack. A very useful remedy which has been used by people for centuries.
  • Salmon, Tuna, Sardines and mackerel, all contain rich fatty acids of omega 3 which helps your lungs to fight off a range of irritants in your lungs. Children who have fish on a regular basis with these fatty acids are less likely to be disturbed by asthma.
  • The significance of garlic has yet to be proven by scientists but many asthma patients can swear by its effectiveness. Many people say that if you boil garlic in some milk and then drink it, it will have great effects.
  • You should have a regular amount of vitamin C preferably everyday as it really does help healing our body. It has been seen many a time that people who are low on vitamin C are the ones who have asthma attacks more than the people who have good amounts of this vitamin in their bodies. Vitamin C is found in abundance in orange juice, papaya or even some vegetables like broccoli or fruits like berries.
  • Another vitamin that is Vitamin B12 also helps to lessen asthma symptoms. Doctors recommend at least 1-4 mcg (micrograms) on a daily basis to avoid asthma attacks. You can have some yogurt everyday as it is full of the daily requirement for this vitamin.
  • You can also think about going on a vegetarian diet fully as it is can also help keep this painful allergy at bay. If you go low on animal fats somehow you will be protected of many animal allergens which can trigger an asthma attack very easily.
  • So don't be afraid of these attacks, just try and take the help of these asthma home treatments to help avoid this allergy rather than curing it!
