There not many people know about the symptoms of allergy to pets when they show up which they do gradually. Out of those sneezing, sniffling and runny eyes are the most reported common ones. In the case of a prolonged physical contact a rash or itching can occur as well. Doctors say that people with asthma are usually more likely to have allergy to pets than ordinary people. Many are of the opinion that if you have an exposure to pets early on in life, you can develop tolerance towards various allergies caused by the pets. The most common pets that people are allergic to are definitely cats and dogs. And of course these are the most common pets that people usually have. Out of these pets we can't decide as to which breed can cause how much irritation and there are no breeds that can be regarded as safe. Different breeds cause allergy to different people in different ways. Cats are regarded more allergy causing than dogs in general. Of course mice, guinea pigs, horses and many other types of pets can cause allergy too. Now contrary to the common thinking it's the dander or dead skin cells that cause allergy rather than the animal fur. You can also be allergic to the saliva and urine of animals. Of course when dust and pollen build up on fur and exacerbate your allergies, manifold.

Now many people mistakenly think that if you have developed an allergy to pets, they've to give their pets away. The reality is anything but as many people with asthma can lead pretty comfortable lives with their pets. Now it's the dander and the dust that you need to control instead of the pets themselves. You need to vacuum regularly to get rid of all the dander that you can. You should also make it a habit of giving your pets a weekly bath as well. Also wash your hands each time after handling it and remember to keep it away from your bedroom as much as you can. Which means that you can essentially keep the pet but you will have to be extra careful about cleanliness. If you have taken all the necessary precautions and the pets are still giving you trouble then maybe the best option would be to just give it away. Just throwing the pet out of the house is not the end of everything; you have to completely rid the house of all the allergens.

You need to be sure that it is in fact that pet that is causing the allergy and not something g else as there are a million other things that could be doing that without your ever realizing. So we can see that there is no such thing as safe pets for asthma patients, it's as safe as you can make them to be.
