It also suggests quite differently that the balance of carbohydrates, proteins or fats doesn't matter a lot; all you need to do is to start cutting calories for weight loss. Most reaches have shown that cutting calories for weight loss is the best thing to do as some connection between participants' attendance at group counseling sessions and weight loss success has been seen consistently.

The only problem that people may find is that it is difficult to keep up with the constant weight loss as many people do not have the required stamina to do so. One thing helps a lot according to many researches and that is frequently attending counseling sessions. We have seen that people this way can lose weight much more quickly than in the regular ways. Additionally, it is also better to use web based self-monitoring tool as it keeps you well on track. In this research 811 men and women were taken and divided into four diet groups with dissimilar target nutrient compositions of fat, protein and carbohydrates. All the diets were good for heart and have replaced saturated fats with unsaturated fats and have high amounts of fruits and vegetables and whole grains.

All of these subjects were encouraged to decrease calories by 750 per day but the bottom line is that everybody could not eat lesser than 1200 calories. They were also supposed to do a fair amount of exercise everyday as well. It was observed that out of the several groups in the study who were given a different nutrient profile to follow, there was no major variation in rate of weight loss. The fact is that there are many popular diets out there which have worked tremendously for people everywhere but still we can't ever find out which one of them would be the best or would suit us the most. Research has shown that only those diets should be followed which will help you to lessen your calories while consuming those foods which are good for your heart. There was some individual counseling as well which was provided to participants every two months over the course of the study. In that counseling period group sessions were held three out of four weeks during the first six months of the study and two out of four weeks from six months to two years which proved to be extremely successful. But the significant thing was that there was no variation in the weight lost by the people in all the groups. Thus it was seen that after a lapse of about six months, subjects lost an average of 13 pounds, and they maintained an average weight loss of 9-pounds at two years. But it was also seen that after a year, all groups began to gradually regain weight unfortunately, but of course this gain was about 20% less than the average regain found in earlier studies. And it was also seen that the subjects had an average loss of two inches in their waistline.

It was also found out that those dieters, who had attended two thirds of counseling sessions over the complete course of the study, lost about 20 pounds vs. the average weight loss of 9 pounds.
